Cally and Rob Worden welcome you to Le Champ Joli - in 2004 we left our hectic lives in the UK to pursue our dream of creating quality Limousin holiday accommodation for people who love the outdoors. We understand how valuable your holidays are, and have created a haven for you in this rural idyll.

We aim to ensure your stay here is everything you want it to be, and your Limousin holiday accommodation has been painstakingly designed and created with your comfort in mind. We welcome feedback and input from our guests and continually strive to improve our service to you.

Families are welcome here, as are well-behaved dogs, by prior arrangement. Talk to us about your requirements and we will do our utmost to accommodate your needs.

Our own family has grown since we arrived in France, and we now share our lives here with our little girl, Ella, a friendly Labrador named Asha, and Izzi the Cat. We all look forward to welcoming you to the best-kept secret paradise in central France!

The Cottage

Situated on two acres of land, the cottage is one of three buildings that form Le Champ Joli. The owners' house is nearby, and another (as yet unrenovated) barn makes up the remainder of the property. We are pleased to be able to be on-hand to assist you during your stay should you require it, and we will always respect your privacy.

The buildings are nestled in one corner of our two acre plot, so there is ample additional space to explore and enjoy around the land. Several strategically placed benches provide the perfect place to sit and relax, with lovely views over the village.  In addition to the photos here on the left, you will find more pictures of your cottage in France on our Gallery page, along with many other beautiful images from the local area.

The Kitchen and Dining Room

This kitchen/diner is a delightful communal room. The kitchen is well-equipped, including a fridge with ice-compartment, a gas cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, and ample crockery and cutlery for five. The dining area has a beautiful wooden table, and there is a mezzanine level with additional seating, providing a great vantage point on proceedings! Double patio doors open directly onto the south-west facing terrace, remarkably convenient for outdoor dining.

The Living Room

In the large living room you will find plenty of comfortable seating in which to relax, and the lovely focal point of a wood-burner for any chilly days and evenings. Should you find yourself becoming too comfortable with the peace and quiet, a CD/DVD player is provided, along with a small flatscreen TV.

The Bedrooms

Each of the two bedrooms glows with warm wood flooring, and fresh, light walls. The rooms are configured as one double and one twin room, each with wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps. An additional bunk-bed can be provided in the twin room, and a cot for the double room if needed.  The twin room can also be configured as a double if required.

The Bath and Shower-rooms

The double bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom with shower. For ease of daily use, the en-suite Shower-room for the twin bedroom is also accessible from the Living Room, but can be closed off to make it a private space.

Private Terrace and Garden

The cottage benefits from a private garden area, with two terraces and a small lawned area. A stepping-stone path leads through the garden to the rear of the property, where you will find a charming wishing well and that all-important store of logs for the wood-burner!

Patio furniture is provided - a large table and chairs for five, and two sun-loungers - and a BBQ allows you to make the most of those balmy summer evenings with some al-fresco dining.

Additional Information and Services

Welcome Pack - for gite rentals a complimentary welcome pack including a bottle of red wine, milk, and selection of seasonal fruit will be provided.  The gite is also stocked with a few basic storecupboard items such as salt, pepper, and sugar.

Families - the garden area for your cottage in France is not enclosed, but we live here happily with our little girl and would describe Le Champ Joli as child friendly - in our experience they will always find some mischief to get into, so a watchful eye is always required anyway! A cot, high chair, and various other baby equipment can be provided on request - please talk to us about your requirements during the booking process.

Pets - well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.

House Hunters - we know that many visitors to the region are looking to buy a property of their own here. As seasoned buyers we will be delighted to advise, and share our experiences with you. As a further bonus, Cally works locally for an Estate Agency and has first-hand access to properties in the area. Take a look at the Agency website at Bacchus Immobilier.

Bed and Breakfast - the cottage can be rented in its entirety, or on a room-by-room basis as Bed and Breakfast accommodation.  B&B guests enjoy the use of the living room and terrace.  Breakfast is served in the kitchen/dining room.  An evening meal can be provided on request, please give as much notice as possible if this is required.
